Parents 'must consider safety when buying a trampoline'03/06/2009Trampolines for the garden can provide hours of fun for young minds but parents must take into account various safety issues before letting their little ones loose on them, it has been claimed.
Shaila Wunderlich, from the Chicago Tribune, claims that mums and dads must think about things such as the land they plan to put the trampoline on, the shape, size and spring of the garden trampoline and add-on features.
First of all, parents should never let their children flip, jump unsupervised or leap from the trampoline to another surface.
Another important consideration is whether the land is flat as this is essential in making sure it is safe for children to play on.
"Consider the space available in your back yard before you even go to purchase a trampoline," Michael Colling, president of Skywalker Trampolines, told the news provider.
He adds that purchasing a trampoline safety net is also highly recommended.
